"I have maintained the same weight I had in university. I exercise regularly, I eat well... yet I received a diagnosis that did not fit my lifestyle: pre-diabetes."

It was a wake-up call, but also a source of great frustration. It was proof that sometimes, a healthy diet and exercise are not enough to overcome a genetic predisposition.

My family history of diabetes had caught up to me. I joined the same club as my aunts, uncles, and siblings. But after researching, I realised this club was much bigger than I imagined.
